The Intercontinental Barclay, an Art Deco stopover in the heart of Manhattan

On the edge of the East and West Side, the five-star hotel offers a dream stop from which to explore New York City. And cherry on the Big Apple, his Gin Parlour offers a beautiful variety of cocktails and gins.

Built in 1926, as part of a development plan for the Grand Central Terminal district, this architectural example of the period has the chic of the buildings on Park Avenue, its neighbour, rich in luxury residences. And the Intercontinental New York Barclay Hotel soon became a favorite haunt of New Yorkers.

The five-star establishment with 702 rooms, including 31 suites, was renovated in 2016. A goldsmith’s work that respects the original Art Deco style, but in a contemporary and hyper-connected spirit.

We love the warm woodwork, marble bathrooms, soft armchairs and soft tones with touches of golden yellow and red.

On the 16th floor, the Harold Vanderbilt Penthouse is worth a visit with a view of the Chrysler Building and the Midtown skyline.

A perfect situation

You can do everything at pied : go to a show in Time Square, go shopping on 5th Avenue or Madison, visit the Museum of Modern Art, walk in Central Park… We’re on the edge of the East Side and the West Side.

At the table and at the bar

We love Chef Kyle Eakins’ tasty cuisine, which is both subtle and committed, as is the entire establishment, which is committed to following a responsible environmental policy. For an aperitif before, Gin Parlour offers a wide variety of cocktails and more than 110 types of gins. Notice to amateurs !
